The series debuted on Monday 16th October at 1.30pm as part of a new experiment in ITV's daytime schedule and was therefore Britan's first ever lunch-time drama serial.The programme was not initally shown in all regions and those that did broadcast it sometimes opted to choose different timeslots, which occasionally meant that some regions would fall behind the Yorkshire Television schedule.Thomas has many TV and Film appearances to his name including Spooks, Bad Girls, Doctors, The Bill, Billy Elliot and About a Boy. at the London Palladium and Dick Whittington at Salder's Well.In 1999-2000 Thomas starred in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Whistle Down the Wind at the Aldwych Theatre London alongside Hollyoaks actress Hannah Tointon and former S Club Juniors member Jay Asforis. In 2003 Matthew stared in the BBC drama The Lost Prince.
Thomas, like fellow Britannia High cast members Sapphire Elia and Georgina Hagen, studied at the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London where he even dated Elia for a short period.
